Free Weekend games marked as owned after playing them

I recently played Tropico 6 in the free weekend on Steam and noticed that afterwards on gg.deals it would be marked as owned by me and I would have to remove it manually.
Maybe this can be fixed easily, steamdb for example can tell the difference of what package SUBID is licensed to your account.

Isn't that is the feature their browser plugin? From API or Steamcommunity profile perspective, there is no indication that game is from free weekend and it displays as any other game in collection.

You may be right there, the other obvious idea would be to remove games (unless they were manually added) every time the library is resynced.

Well, that is tricky too. We did that at the beginning and there were too many situations where games were removed due some bug in Steam API. We definitely want to do something with free weekend games, but silently removing game from collection is far from good solution.

Maybe you could do this again but only remove games that has had free weekends? Check if a game has been removed from users library according to the Steam API AND previously had a free weekend. Only remove games that check both those boxes.
