How does the sync work? Can it conflict with manually added games?

We have family sharing set up, which complicates browsing the sales in most places cause we have to track who owns what. This is why I'm really interested in combining Steam library sync with manually adding games to the Collection here. Can the sync later override what I manually added? Or will it co-exist just fine and it's a normal way to use the Collection here?

It should work fine. Synchronization of collection with Steam/GOG account does not remove any items from your GG.deals collection. It may add some platforms (for example if you add game manually, and then sync the same game with Steam, it will ensure that you have "Steam" platform set for this game in collection), but it should not remove any games or settings that you have set manually.
