GG.deals tech stack

Hi guys,

I found out about GG.deals quite recently and I fell in love with it the first time I used it. The interface both on desktop and mobile is very user-friendly and the experience of using it as a whole.

I'm a software engineer, a mobile applications developer to be more specific and I must say I am very impressed with just how much good I have to say about GG.deals including the deals 🙂. In fact, I was introducing GG.deals to the rest of my team who's responsible for developing and maintaining a very complex web application today during a technical meeting. Even they were impressed with a lot of the aspects (cards organization, filters, loading times, responsiveness, etc.). Sadly, there is nobody to talk about actual games. 🙁

Anywho, I (we) wanted to ask what tech stack you guys use? I (we) perfectly understand that you can't share the core stuff, like how you fetch, parse and manage data but we'd like to know about the interface. I assume it to be React and GraphQL with MongoDB perhaps. My web stack knowledge is minimal.

Anything the devs ca share?

It may be disappointing to you, but we're not using anything fancy. We're relying on server-side rendering, without any react-like frontend framework. Most of JS-heavy parts of the website (popups, forms, filters) are custom solutions, written in typescript. Rest of it is just an old-fashion website using HTML and CSS.

Not disappointed at all but rather more impressed. I guess I'm gonna take a casual walk down the rabbit hole of 'server-side rendering'. I was messing around with GG.deals with a proxy and a very limited bandwidth just now and yet it functioned very well.
