Launch Price Is NOT Historical Price

Simple suggestion. When a game is at launch price it should not be heralded and marked as "Historical Price" even though it technically is. Please add a new distinction (if it's even necessary to mark the prices of newly released games).

I think that's because when we see the "historical" tag we think that it's an historical discount over the base price. Maybe this could be solved with an "historical discount" tag ;-)

Historical discount would apply to percentage of discount (ie from 1% to 99%). Our green "historical" label applies to price.

Llewelyn argues that the launch price shouldn't count as historical, but technically there is no other price that was cheaper. I totally disagree with his logic and for me any historically lowest price should qualify for the label - regardless if it's launch price or not.

remike My point is why even bother highlighting a price if it's not even a deal. Like I said, technically it is, but it's not helpful in any way to anyone. It just makes full price preorders show up in the "Historical Low" panel, which makes no sense as it should highlight deals, not that preorders are open.

Why bother not highlighting? Right now rules for this label are clear and simple - if there was never a lower price for this game, price is "historical lowest". Adding additional rules will only make implementation more complicated and result more confusing for users.

I agree with the idea that launch price is not what I am expecting when I see historical low price and that the launch or full price is not any special offer or deal that deserves a special mark or tag. Also, "historical" suggests that there has been a longer past to it, but there wasn't with a new release which might be irritating, maybe rather rename it to "new", "new release", "release" or something similar for full launch prices.

On the other hand games are available discounted and for cheaper than full price from long before their release therefor a price tracking and history is justified, but "historical" does still seem a bit off place for game that is released for just a day and did irritate me as well when I first noticed it, that's why I was posting.

Yeah, it's annoying when you scroll your wishlist and see green price only to realize it's still just launch price.
