A unified library, deal, and launch hub
Hello GG.Deals Team and Community,
Firstly, I want to thank the team for creating such an essential tool for PC gamers. GG.Deals is my go-to resource for tracking prices and managing my wishlist.
However, as my library of games sprawls across multiple storefronts (Steam, Epic, GOG, etc.), I find myself needing a more centralized and powerful way to manage everything. Currently, to get a similar experience, I use GG.Deals in my browser alongside separate applications like Playnite or LaunchBox.
This leads me to a feature proposal that I believe would be a game-changer for GG.Deals: Developing a dedicated, standalone desktop application for Windows (and potentially other platforms).
Core Vision: The "GG.Deals Hub"
Imagine an application that combines the core strengths of GG.Deals with the library management prowess of launchers like Playnite. This wouldn't just be a port of the website, but a native app designed for a richer desktop experience.
Proposed Key Features:
Unified Game Library & Launcher:
Connect your accounts from Steam, Epic Games Store, GOG Galaxy, Xbox App, Ubisoft Connect, etc. to import all your owned games into a single, clean interface.
Launch any game directly from the GG.Deals app, regardless of its native launcher.
Enhanced Price & Deal Integration:
View your entire library and see at a glance which games have active deals or historical low prices.
Receive desktop notifications for wishlist items hitting your target price, even when the app is minimized.
Have a dedicated "Deals for My Library" tab highlighting discounts on DLCs or sequels to games you already own.
Deep GG.Deals Functionality Within the App:
Full wishlist management, price history charts, and store comparisons directly accessible from the game's entry in your library.
A "Smart Wishlist" that can alert you if a game's "Complete Edition" or a highly-rated bundle including it goes on sale.
Customization & Performance:
Custom views, sorting, and tagging for your massive collection.
Option to download cover art, backgrounds, and metadata.
A lightweight app that runs efficiently in the background for notifications.
Why This Makes Sense for GG.Deals
This application would create a powerful, sticky ecosystem. Users would start their gaming session from the GG.Deals Hub, making it the central dashboard for their entire PC gaming hobby—from discovering deals to launching games. It would provide a unique value proposition that no other single tool currently offers, perfectly bridging the gap between a deal aggregator and a library manager.
Community Discussion Points:
Would you use a GG.Deals desktop app?
What specific features from existing launchers (Playnite, LaunchBox, GOG Galaxy 2.0) would be most important to you?
How should the app handle privacy and account linking security?
Thank you for considering this idea. I believe the GG.Deals team has the unique data and vision to build the ultimate companion app for PC gamers.
Best regards,
[A GG.Deals User]
