There was a game on sale I wasn't sure to buy now, so I wanted to set alert in case they make the same discount again. I went to the alert, entered the current % to the base price, but the resulted price were lower than the current price, which means I won't be notified in such cases.
What is taken as the base price? Is it the lowest among the base prices in stores?
I think it is confusing and shouldn't be that way, cause in the current alerts system % is converted straight into currency and doesn't match the logic of the displayed deal discount % on the game page, which makes using % in alerts useless for such games. Want to be notified about the exact same discount in %? Not possible. Want to be notified if they do 95% off next? Won't work, you have to calculate on your own and input the precise currency value of your store and region.
Example:
https://gg.deals/game/under-the-waves/ but applies to other games of this publisher as well.
On this page:
Current Prices - Official Stores 2,99€ -90%
Stores section:
Steam: 29,99€ 2,99€ -90%
GamersGate: 26.99€ (no discount)
Alert popup:
Base price: 26,99€ Click 90% there:
Your target price: 2,70€
Entering 90% in alert as base price target won't notify when game hits 90% again on Steam. Same with 95% etc. The logic is not transparent here to the end user, and won't work as expected.
