pogue972 I'm not a dev, but a quick search tells me that this data can be accessed officially from Microsoft via their Xbox services API (XSAPI), and there are two free services: OpenXBL and XAPI. Showing which titles you already own would allow you to filter out results, as well as find DLC for those titles when they go on sale. My library is pretty large and I often forget if I own a title and have to log into xbox dot com to check.
Hi @pogue972, thanks for the thoughtful suggestion! I’m also an Xbox player with a library of over 1,000 games, so I completely understand how helpful it would be to have Xbox library sync integrated into GG.deals.
We’ve explored the official Microsoft Xbox Services API, but unfortunately, we couldn’t find any reliable way to retrieve a user’s list of digitally owned games. The available endpoints only provide information about games you’ve played, which can include Game Pass titles, physical copies, and trials, but not a definitive list of games you own digitally.
This limitation also seems to affect platforms like Playnite and TrueAchievements. They pull data based on played history rather than actual ownership. Enabling user to sync "played" games on GG.deals would only cause confusion. We believe that kind of incomplete data would do more harm than good in terms of library tracking.
That said, we do support Playnite integration, which already lets users import their played Xbox games into GG.deals. You can try it out right now, but bear in mind the limitation I have described above.
If Microsoft ever provides a way to access accurate ownership data through their official API, we would love to revisit this and add proper Xbox sync. We haven’t tested unofficial services like OpenXBL or XAPI ourselves, but we’d be happy to explore them if they prove to be reliable and sustainable long-term.
pogue972 Finally, under settings, in Default Game Card Filters, there is an option to show discounts from subscribed services, but why isn't GamePass an option? GamePass subscribers will have access to a lot of games listed without having to pay for them while they are included in the service, as well as additional discounts on certain titles. This is for Xbox as well as PC.
There are two types of discounts that affect Game Pass subscribers, and here’s how they currently work on GG.deals:
- GG.deals already covers time-limited discounts exclusive to Game Pass members (previously known as “Deals with Gold”). You can find these by enabling the separate store called “Deals with Game Pass” in the Stores filter.
- What we don’t currently support are the built-in Game Pass benefits like 10% off DLCs or the 20% discount on buying Game Pass titles to own. These are always-on discounts tied to your subscription, not part of limited-time promotions.
Unfortunately, we haven’t been able to find any reference to those permanent discounts in the official Xbox API. Without access to that data, we can’t reliably include them in our listings or the “Special discount” filters. If Microsoft ever makes that info available through their API, we’ll be quick to jump on it.
