Yes, you can throw anything. There is one nice addition to H2 - while you have the same amount of items that you can take with you to the map, actually in H2 you can get 1 more and that is suitcase. It's additional throwable weapon, and it's one of those distractions, that guards take with them (like guns or explosives).
I am waiting for bugfixes to the game. There are some strange issues like (from less important) not being able to take apples (while those are highlighted in sense view) or (way more important) nearly impossible to kill one of the targets with electricity (water puddle + battery), as if he would be using rubber shoes. I saw it on youtube that someone pulled it off, but I've tried many times and he never died, while it affected other characters, including ... me 😛 At least he dies when lying unconscious in water ;p
