Hello,
People usually don't see beyond their own interest. I'm not like that.
Though I don't agree with splitting anything as I personally want to know about every kind of "free", I think that if the splitting road is taken, it should be complete and well defined. There is a filter menu that allows to group multiple tags, so having more detailed tags is actually not a problem for me.
I see "trials" as free to play for a limited time, so I agree that timed trials, alpha/beta tests, week/weekend trials are all trials, but I don't mind if they were split into distinct tags.
Demos are not the same as trials for me and I would rather have a separate "demo" tag for them. I see "demos" as limited content games that can be played forever (time limited demos, you can restart and play the limited time again, contrary to a trial that you can't play anymore after the time has elapsed).
I don't agree that F2P releases should go into the existing "new releases". They may be tagged "new releases" but they should have their own "F2P" tag (either new or becoming F2P).
This amounts to:
"Freebies" β full game free to keep, free with subscription (the latter with additional "subscription" tag);
"Trials" β Temporary access (X hours, alpha/beta tests, week/weekends);
"demos" β limited content free to keep;
"free2play" β game released or becoming free-to-play (the former with additional "new release" tag).
Regards.
