Hi all,
I've only been here a few months. I am curious how you folks are using this site. Of course, it is still growing and has some limitations. The way I see it, there are three (maybe four) main categories of things to track:
- Games I Own
My game collection is managed through Playnite, because I have games purchased through around 10 different stores. I don't want to manage those manually, so I don't use the Collection feature here at all. Playnite gives me one place to see my entire collection across PC and console, plus launch anything I have installed.
- Games I Own And Want To Play
These I keep on the Ignore list. I could use Playnite for this, but I play on both PC and PS5, so having my combined "Games To Play Next" list online here is better than just having it locally on my PC.
- Games I Want To Buy
For these, I feel like Alerts and Wishlist must be used together. Wishlist is very easy to sort by best deal or price or whatever, but without using Alerts I would have to come every day and look for what deals have come up. I tried using just Alerts by itself but the Notifications area just wasn't as easy to find and sort things as Wishlist, so now everything in my Wishlist also has an Alert set up too.
Maybe Games I Am Currently Playing could also be a list, but that is really just what is installed at the moment on my pc and console.
This system seems to work well for me so far, but I am curious if you folks are finding easier ways to do this kind of thing. Or are you waiting for certain upcoming features that will make things even better?
